Hello capital region,
Hello November! In the wake of yesterday's cold front temperatures started to fall yesterday afternoon and continued to drop last night. Despite a lot of sun this morning, the temperatures will only reach the mid 40s with increasing afternoon clouds in advance of our next weather maker.
High pressure overhead today will slide to the northeast of us tonight into Thursday and make room for a couple systems that will impact the region both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, many of us could experience the first flakes of the season, as a clipper and some strong upper level energy dive in from the west and northwest. The end result of the disturbance and clipper should be a few snow and rain Thursday and Thursday night. As a matter of fact, some of the higher terrain may even pick up a light accumulation, especially in the Adirondacks & Berkshires. Otherwise, it will just be a little reminder that winter is just around the corner for the rest of us.
Thursday night & Friday the clipper and a coastal low will become one large, intense storm off the New England coastline. The only effects we will really feel from this storm will be strong, cold northwest winds and possibly a morning snow/rain shower lingering Friday.
As far as the weekend goes, at this point it looks pretty good with milder, more seasonable temperatures and some sun both Saturday and especially Sunday.
