Cold Today, but...
The clipper and strong upper level energy that provided the area with clouds and some rain and snow showers late Thursday and last night is slowly pulling away. In the intensifying ocean storm's wake, a strong area of high pressure will build in later today into the start of the weekend. The result will be developing sun as we head through this Friday, winds going calm this evening, one of the coldest night's of the year tonight and a good deal of sun to start Saturday.

On Saturday, after the cold, sunny start more clouds will move in as we head into the afternoon ahead and with a warm front. A southwest breeze will also develop on Saturday which will aid the start of a warm up. Temperatures will become more seasonable on Saturday, before going slightly above average Sunday and well above average Monday and Tuesday next week! The big question for the tail end of the weekend and early next is...Will we stay dry?? Well, after the possibility of a passing shower or two Saturday night and early Sunday with an occluded front, we will be dry for much of Sunday and through at least the start of Tuesday.

Another Chilly One
Hello November! After a cold and quiet Wednesday we will be in for a mainly tranquil Thursday too. However, a couple systems will be impacting the region later today into Friday. Late today and especially tonight is when many of us could experience the first flakes of the season, as a clipper and some strong upper level energy dive in from the west and northwest. The end result will be a few snow and rain showers late this afternoon through tonight. There may even be a slushy coating or so by sunrise Friday, mainly just in the Adirondacks & Berkshires tonight. Otherwise, all the flakes will serve as for most of us is a little reminder that winter is just around the corner.

Late tonight into Friday the clipper and a coastal low developing will become one large, intense storm off the New England coastline. The only effects we will really feel from this storm will be gusty, cold northwest winds and possibly a morning snow shower/flurry lingering Friday.

As far as the weekend goes, the big ocean storm will pull away and should leave us high and dry with an area of high pressure at least start the day. There will be a warm front trying to push through later in the day, which should set the stage for increasing, mainly afternoon clouds. Temperatures will become more seasonable on Saturday and actually should go slightly above average Sunday with some additional sun.

Late November Chill
Hello capital region, Hello November! In the wake of yesterday's cold front temperatures started to fall yesterday afternoon and continued to drop last night. Despite a lot of sun this morning, the temperatures will only reach the mid 40s with increasing afternoon clouds in advance of our next weather maker.

High pressure overhead today will slide to the northeast of us tonight into Thursday and make room for a couple systems that will impact the region both Thursday and Friday. On Thursday, many of us could experience the first flakes of the season, as a clipper and some strong upper level energy dive in from the west and northwest. The end result of the disturbance and clipper should be a few snow and rain Thursday and Thursday night. As a matter of fact, some of the higher terrain may even pick up a light accumulation, especially in the Adirondacks & Berkshires. Otherwise, it will just be a little reminder that winter is just around the corner for the rest of us.

Thursday night & Friday the clipper and a coastal low will become one large, intense storm off the New England coastline. The only effects we will really feel from this storm will be strong, cold northwest winds and possibly a morning snow/rain shower lingering Friday.

As far as the weekend goes, at this point it looks pretty good with milder, more seasonable temperatures and some sun both Saturday and especially Sunday.
