Ahoy Hoy

In the documentary, American Movie, we meet Mike Schank. He's the friend of the ostensible protagonist of the film, Mark Borchardt. Mike's an ... interesting fellow with dreams of rock n' roll stardom. He also lives with his mom.

A friend of mine found out Mike had a demo tape you could buy, so he sent away for it. He had to send a check to Mike's moms house, made out to Mike's mom. A few weeks later, a package arrived with a 90 minute BASF tape filled with songs. Mike apparently recorded them on one of those boxy tape recorders like the one I got from Sears for Christmas in 1977.

There was a piece of masking tape stuck to the cassette with "Stuff I Like" written on it in ball point pen. I'm stealing the name. Welcome to Stuff I Like.
