Airfares this year are expected to take off this year.
It likely comes as no shock that industry analysts say it's the price of crude oil is driving up the cost of jet fuel.
The problem now is that the airlines have already raised ticket prices twice since January.
Jet fuel makes up about 35 percent of an airline's operating cost.
Earlier this week, Southwest Airlines, which is consistently profitable, said it won't post a profit for January, February and March thanks to fuel prices.
