Right in the midst of preparing for Super Bowl XLVI, Giants receiver Hakeem Nicks is taking time out to help the Center for Disability Services.

Nicks will be in Albany to join the annual Center telethon on Sunday January 29th.

The receiver, who racked up over 1,100 yards and 7 TD's this season will appear thanks in large part to Giants coach Tom Coughlin.

Coughlin, whose Jay Foundation benefits childrens charities, is allowing Nicks to appear Sunday much the same way he did with then Giants receiver Steve Smith back in 2008.

“I’m very happy that my schedule worked out and allowed for me to make it to the telethon.  I have heard that it is for a great cause and I’m honored to be a part of it,” said Nicks said in a release from Niskayuna based agent JR Rickert of Authentic Athletix.

Nicks will be on hand to talk with fans and sign autographs, joining Yankee pitcher Joba Chamberlain in the sports room at the Holiday Inn Albany on Wolf Road from noon to 3pm.

You can see the 52nd annual telethon from noon to 7pm on FOX23, cable channel 8.
