Sometimes with the strongest bonds, few words, are needed.
15-year-old Michaela Gillispie and The Wizard, fondly known as Oz, started working together about a year ago.
"I have total faith in him," said Michaela.
Each week, the two put in hours of work.
"If you hurt places it's good," she said.
Their strengths, challenge each other.
"He's very competitive once he gets to shows that's the same way I am," said Michaela.
Their differences, bring out the best.
Their trainer Suzanne Haberek, from Trinity Farms, says that is what makes their team so successful. Just weeks ago, together, they faced their biggest test so far.
The Morgan Grand National features the best riders in the world, all judged on the rider's skill, combined with horse performance.
"He calms me down once I get on," said Michaela.
It was their first crack at it. They never expected to have the show of their lives.
"They called her number and it was floods and streams," said Haberek.
The pair won a first gold medal, then a second, and an unanimous third. A triple crown, the first for her barn, the state, her age.
"I always believed I could and he could but to actually was amazing," said Michaela.
A monumental accomplishment, strengthening a remarkable bond.
"The love of him, he equally loves her back," said Haberek.
Feelings, even words, if they had them couldn't express.
"He knows," said Michaela.
