Katy Perry has picked up another major accolade after becoming the Recording Industry Association of America's highest-selling digital act.

The Roar singer has sold over 72 million digital singles to date and she was presented with an award to mark the feat at Washington, D.C.'s Verizon Center on Wednesday.

With 72 million digital singles to her name, Perry becomes the first artist to surpass 70 million. Billboard.com reports she is currently 20 million sales ahead of any other artist.
