In addition to any other auto insurance you have, you may also want to purchase medical payments coverage. This insurance will cover payment of all doctor and hospital related bills, including your passengers' medical bills, that result from your accident, regardless of who was at fault. If you're are injured while riding in someone else car, the driver's insurance should cover your doctor and hospital bills. Your insurance will then cover any bill that is in excess of their coverage. Ask your insurance agent about the extent of your medical payments coverage. If you have health insurance, it may cover the medical bills resulting from a car accident too. Your insurance agent can help you make sure you're not over-insured. Consult an insurance agent in your area for more information.
