Evidence has linked reproductive impairment with exposure to alcohol, tobacco, and caffeine. Alcohol can have negative effects on both male and female reproductive organs. You might even lose some of your sexual drive. Fetal exposure to alcohol can cause complications for newborn babies. Tobacco is also known as a toxin during reproduction. You could have a low birth weight baby. Respiratory problems can also result from smoking. Regardless of how these substances hinder reproduction, both men and women should try to be in the best possible health during conception and pregnancy to ensure a healthy baby.
