If you're looking for a low maintenance method of keeping your pool clean, biquanide products may be the answer. Biquanide chemicals have been used to disinfect contact lenses safely and now provide a weekly testing answer to your pool water care. Bacquacil and soft swim are just some of the pool sanitizers available containing biquanide. Sanitizing your pool is easy. All you need to do is test the level of biquanide in the water, then add the required chemical amount. This is a non-bleach sanitizer, so you can resume swimming immediately after dosing. Even a shock dosing once a month does not require a wait period for the chemicals to return to normal. You can swim after only 30 minutes. Since biquanide is non-bleaching, it will not irritate your skin or change the color of pool liners. It will also be unable to reduce stains in plaster pools. Other chemical sanitizers, including chlorine and bromine, are not compatible with biquanide... this does not mean you'll need to drain your pool to change systems. Your local pool distributor can offer advice on the use of biquanide in your pool. Biquanide (ba-qui-anide) bacquacil (ba-qua-cil)
