HURLEY, N.Y. (AP) - Authorities say an 86-year-old Hudson Valley woman has died at a hospital after being injured in a collision that also claimed her husband's life.
The Ulster County Sheriff's Office tells local media outlets that Anna Kaufman of Hurley died at Albany Medical Center around 2:30 p.m. Sunday, about two hours after the accident in her hometown.
Deputies say 88-year-old John Kaufman was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 209 when he pulled his minivan into the path of a pickup truck towing a car carrier loaded with three vehicles.
John Kaufman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 52-year-old Georgia man driving the pickup truck and his passenger weren't hurt.
Route 209 was closed for several hours after the crash, which remains under investigation.
