ALBANY, N.Y. - A police chase between Troy and Albany ended with three people being arrested Wednesday afternoon.
Officer Steven Smith of Albany police says the chase started in Troy as part of an ongoing investigation. The car fled across 112th Street to 787, going southbound in the northbound lane for a time.
The car was able to get in the southbound lane during the pursuit. Troy terminated the pursuit just before the I-90 interchange after losing sight of the vehicle, and Albany and State police picked up the chase. A State police helicopter was also brought in for the chase.
After a brief pursuit in the Quail Street and Western Avenue area, the car crashed into a concrete wall on the Dunn Memorial Bridge. One of the suspects jumped over the side off the bridge and was taken to Albany Medical Center for his injuries. Police did not immediately know his condition.
Two other suspects were also arrested, and a handgun was recovered at the scene.
