John Gray is FOX23's main anchor at 10pm. A Troy native, John graduated with honors from LaSalle Institute, Hudson Valley Community College and SUNY Oswego.
After spending several years as radio news anchor John made the jump to TV where he has become a familiar face to Capital Region viewers since 1988. Over the past 23 Years he has covered many big stories including the terrorist attacks of September 11th , the Pope's visit to America and has reported on a number of Presidential campaigns. However, his favorite stories involve helping people right here at home. John volunteers with a dozen local charities including, ALS, M.S., Special Olympics, Juvenile Diabetes, Hospice, and Big Brothers/Big Sisters to name a few.
He has won numerous awards including "Best Investigative Series" from the New York State Broadcasters. He was also selected by the Capital District Business Review to receive the prestigious 40 Under 40 Award and has received H.V.C.C.'s ' Most Distinguished Alumni' award.
John's passion is writing and for the past ten years his Wednesday column in The Record and Saratogian newspapers has become a local favorite. He also writes a popular monthly column in Capital Region Living Magazine. In 2008 John won a national writing contest held by Celtic Lounge dot com.
John has three children and a german shepard named 'Max'. In his spare time John enjoys rollerblading, golf and travel.
