AVERILL PARK, N.Y. – Kay’s Famous Pizza on Burden Lake had its 56th seasonal opening Tuesday afternoon.
Tom Lilly and his son, James, are the owners of Kay’s Pizza.
“Over the years, it’s just built its reputation,” Tom said. “The recipe for Kay’s pizza has been handed down for the 56 years from Kay and Vic who were the first owners of it as Kay’s.”
James said the restaurant makes its dough and sauce fresh every day amounting to anywhere from 200 to 600 pounds of dough every day.
