WATERVLIET, N.Y. – One local man was arrested after threatening his estranged wife and her boyfriend, saying he would show up to their workplace.
The Albany County Sheriff's Office says they arrested Shane Murray, 25, for two misdemeanor counts of Harassment in the 2nd Degree.
According to authorities, Murray threatened his estranged wife and her boyfriend via text messages early Sunday morning.
The wife and boyfriend, who work for the TSA at the Albany International Airport, reported the text messages to the Sheriff's Office.
According to Sheriff Craig Apple, the Murray never threatened to kill anyone, however he did say he was going to show up at their airport while they worked.
Murray was arraigned in the Town of Colonie Justice Court and was released on his own recognizance. Orders of protection were issued.
Murray also surrendered his registered firearm at the time of the arrest, according to authorities.
The Albany County Sheriff's Office Airport Unit says they are working closely with the TSA at this time to provide information related to this case. Sheriff Apple says the airport has more visible patrols following the LAX shooting and this local incident.
