RUPERT, Vt., - Vermont State Troopers say they have arrested a New York man for DUI involving a snowmobile.
According to authorities, Egbert Shaw, 38, of Washington County, was located by State Troopers who were responding to a called of a stranded snowmobiler.
Upon arrival, Troopers located Shaw at a residence on Vermont Route 3015. Shaw told State Police that he got his snowmobile stuck and was separated from his group, according to authorities.
State Police say a strong smell of alcohol was detected on Shaw’s breath. Shaw took standard field sobriety tests and was subsequently placed under arrest for DUI.
Shaw also exhibited symptoms of frostbite on his neck. He was taken to Southwestern Vermont Medical Center by Salem Rescue.
Shaw was cited to appear at Bennington Court in late January.
