Police: Man with arrest warrant arrested during traffic stop

MANCHESTER, Vt. – Vermont State Police have arrested two people, one of whom, had an active arrest warrant out of Windham County, Vermont.

According to authorities, a vehicle was stopped on Ways Lane for erratic operation on Saturday shortly before 10:30 a.m.  During the traffic stop, the passenger gave police a false name. 

As the man was placed under arrest for giving a false name and identity theft, police also found he was in possession of a bag of heroin. 

The true identity of the man has been determined to be 30-year-old Christopher McLean, who had an active arrest warrant for a prior possession of heroin charge.

The driver of the vehicle, Chelsy Moore, 23, was also arrested on Saturday morning.  The vehicle was seized and a search warrant was executed, which turned up another bag of heroin.

McLean was remanded to Marble Valley Correctional Center for lack of bail.

Moore was cited to appear in Bennington Criminal court for misdemeanor possession of heroin.
