ALBANY, N.Y. -- City of Albany officials have announced that STAR exemptions will be removed from some Albany properties earlier this week.
According to Mayor Kathy Sheehan's Office, homeowners in the City of Albany should be aware that the State of New York has ordered the removal of STAR exemptions from more than 1,200 properties.
Many homes had to be removed because homeowners exceeded the 500,000 dollar income limit, or the property was not their primary residence.
Addresses of the properties have been posted on the City of Albany website which can be found here.
Now the Tax and Finance Department for the state is saying it's still not too late for homeowners to register by phone. If your home is listed as removed because you failed to register properly, you can still call #518-457-2036 Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m., and the department will register you by phone.
