RENSSELAER, N.Y. - A local wounded warrior will meet his new service dog for the first time on Saturday.
Cpl. Jeremy Walton suffered from a Traumatic Brain Injury in combat. Walton has been a part of Wounded Warrior events provided by STRIDE Adaptive Sports, a local non-profit, to help his PTSD.
Walton has applied to a number of organizations to receive a service dog to continue his healing process. Now, Walton will meet his 8-month-old service dog, Alanna, a chocolate Labrador Retriever.
Alanna is making a trip to Albany from Washington State on Saturday.
STRIDE is hosting a “Dog Shower” to support Walton and his new companion.
