State worker accused of stealing money from employee activity fund

SCHODACK, N.Y. -  A New York State employee has been charged with Grand Larceny in the 3rd Degree.

Colleen Sidoti is an employee for the NYS Office of Children and Family Services in Rensselaer, N.Y. She was the chair person for the "Central Office Activity Team" (COAT) committee. The committee is responsible for setting up summer picnics, holiday parties and other activities in the office.

Sidoti is accused of illegally taking about $3,400 from the COAT committee account over the course of two years.

According to authorities, Sidoti has been placed on Administrative leave by the Office of Children and Family Services.

Sidoti has been arraigned in city court on her charge. She is scheduled to reappear on December 18th
