SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – Saratoga Police say they have arrested two men on felony assault charges in separate incidents over the weekend.
On Saturday, Orion Johnson, 21, was arrested on a warrant around 10 a.m. Police say the arrest stems from an incident on March 21 on Caroline Street. Johnson allegedly smashed a beer bottle into the head of another person. The victim sustained a severe laceration to his head which required treatment.
Johnson has been charged with Assault in the 2nd degree with a deadly weapon, and criminal possession of a weapon in the 4th degree.
On Sunday, police responded to a disturbance call on Avery Street around 5:45 a.m. According to police, a 25-year-old male victim was found with a minor laceration to his chest.
Police say Gustavo Fraatz-Garcia, 30, was the victim's roommate. According to authorities, Fraatz-Garcia was involved in an argument inside the apartment with his roommate. It is alleged that Fraatz-Garcia began to choke the victim with his hands.
Police say the victim was able to escape. However, Fraatz-Garcia then allegedly grabbed a folding knife and began to threaten the victim. He is accused of slashing the man's chest. The victim was able to escape from the apartment and notify police.
Fraatz-Garcia was charged with assault in the 2nd degree with a deadly weapon, menacing in the 2nd degree, criminal possessing of a weapon in the 4th degree, and obstruction of breathing. He was arraigned and sent to Saratoga County Jail.
