One local school district is reporting more absences in their schools.
A letter went home to parents today saying that Guilderland Schools are seeing more cases of flu-like symptoms including several confirmed H1N1 cases.
Because of this more parents have been keeping their kids home if they're sick. School nurses have also been sending more kids home during the day. Even though there's been an increase, the school district says they are not planning to close.
Ballston Spa schools are also reporting a number of confirmed H1N1 cases. This is the breakdown so far: In the high school, they have one case, in the middle school, three cases have been reported. And at Wood Road Elementary School, they have one case. Again school officials remind parents to keep their kids home if they're sick and to practice good hygiene habits to prevent the spread of the illness.
