It takes talent, drama, even some romance to get FOX shows on the air. But it takes fans to keep them there.
"I watch something on FOX every day," said Kay Vinciquerra, of Albany. "I watch all the repeats. I can watch Bones four times a night."
But Kay isn't just a fan. She's also a critic, looking at talent, storylines, even character interaction. All those things she got to study up close this past April.
"Simon Cowell is really nice. Randy, he's Randy. He's always nice. Ellen is quiet. Kara is this wide. She can't make spaghetti sauce I remember her telling me that," said Kay.
Her six day trip included an Idol taping, a Bones party, even a behind the scenes look at Glee.
"It's amazing how much work they do. I remember them saying they had been taping until midnight the night before," said Kay.
Her son Tony is a FOX executive. The behind the scenes secrets are old hat for him. But even at 85-years-old, it's new and exciting for her.
"I went to bed pinching myself. Did I really do all that? It doesn't seem possible," she said.
From Glee to Idol, Bones and 24, the stories and Kay's new friends are a welcome escape, especially now.
"They found the cancer because they did a CT scan," she said.
Her son planned the trip right before she started chemo. Now, as she begins treatment, Kay is turning to her favorite shows.
"When you get up in the morning and it hits you what am I going to do today? Then it hits you...oh I've got to watch Bones,'" she said. "It gives me something to look forward to."
This FOX fan is fearlessly looking forward. And fondly looking back at a trip of a lifetime and the characters she met.
"They are people like the people next door. Maybe have more money but, are like the people next door," she said.
Kay said the actor who plays Dr. Hodgins on Bones, T.J. Thyne just sent her an autographed picture, bones script and a letter.
She says the letter talks about how Thyne told his teacher when he was just 12-years-old that he wanted to grow up to be an actor on a FOX show.
