ALBANY, N.Y. – Dontell Davis was arrested in connection with a robbery that occurred on Sheridan Avenue last month.
On Friday, November 29 around 6:30 a.m., Albany Police said they responded to the area of 99 Washington Ave. for a report of a suspicious person.
When officers arrived, a female victim told police that while in the rear of the building, a male approached her from behind and placed his hand on her shoulder. The 62-year-old woman screamed, and the male fled the scene.
According to authorities, they located 32-year-old Davis shortly after the call based on a description given by the victim.
An investigation revealed Davis was also connected to a robbery on Sheridan Avenue.
On November 20 around 5:40 a.m., Davis allegedly approached a woman inside the parking garage at 100 Sheridan Ave. He appeared to be armed with a knife and demanded money. The 41-year-old female victim complied, and he fled the scene.
The woman was unharmed during the incident.
After the attack on November 20, the Public Employees Federation went through the parking garage and created a list of suggested security updates. The Office of General Services operates Sheridan Garage, and OGS plans to meet with PEG to discuss any enhancements.
Davis was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court Tuesday and remanded to the Albany County Jail. He was charged with Robbery in the 1st Degree.
