42-year-old Levora Green was led into court Wednesday morning in shackles. He was arraigned on charges police call the most serious in the sexual abuse statutes: predatory sexual conduct.
"This case is truly as bad as it gets," said Troy Police Captain John Cooney. "Mr. Green truly is the monster that we tell all our children to avoid and hope they never come into contact with."
A tip from an acquaintance led police on a two month investigation that they say uncovered at least five victims, all teenage boys under the age of 17.
Police said Green used alcohol and marijuana to coax them into his former apartments at 1517 5th Avenue and 211 4th Street. That's where police said Green gained their trust then sexually assaulted them.
We spoke with neighbors who said they often saw Green hanging out with teens. But they say they never suspected what may have been going on behind closed doors.
"Never, never," says neighbor AZ Pudo. "It's sad. You don't know anybody these days."
"Right next door. You never know what's going on," says another neighbor. "The left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing."
Now police say, there could be even more victims, even as many as ten. They say they're looking for witnesses to come forward.
"We see so often that adolescents have a difficult time disclosing horrendous acts that are committed against them," Cooney says. :We need our parents to say simply where were you?"
Anyone with information that could help further this case is asked to call the Troy Police Department.
