NISKAYUNA, N.Y. – A new organization called "Baking Memories For Kids" is finding a unique way to help children and their families who are battling serious illnesses.
On Thursday night, a five-year-old in Niskayuna received a special surprise.
Frank Squeo arrived with balloons in hand, ready to deliver something special to five-year-old Aidan Page. Frank arrived at Aiden's door, alongside Niskayuna firefighters and surprised the little boy with a trip to Disney World.
Aidan has leukemia and Frank found a way to send him and his family on a trip to the place where dreams come true.
"It gives them a chance to forget about cancer and make memories that will last forever," said Squeo.
Aidan took a cookie for himself because it's those cookies that are making the trip a reality.
Every penny raised, $40,000 in just three weeks, goes to sending sick children to Walt Disney World.
"When you are happy, you heal better," said Squeo, who also battled and overcame cancer.
Aidan's father, Kevin Paige, said the people he has met through all this, including Frank, have been amazing.
"It is unbelievable, the amount of support and generosity we've received," said Kevin.
"It is just amazing the good things that come from such an awful thing. It was our worst nightmare the day we found out Aidan has cancer," said Michelle Paige, Aidan's mom.
Aidan said he has seen Disney World on commercials but now he will be able to meet Mickey Mouse in person.
The Paige's say they plan to take the trip in March.
