TROY, N.Y. – Chowderfest was 10am-3pm on Sunday.
The 7th annual Chowderfest welcomes everyone to enjoy fall food, live music and family activities.
Seventeen restaurants will be competing and serving up 22 different types of chowder. This year there is dessert chowder for people to try.
Prizes will be awarded to best seafood, vegetarian, most original and overall favorites. A secret panel of 4 local restaurant critics will be judging the chowder. However, the "People's Choice Award" will only be voted on by the crowd.
Restaurants participating in Chowderfest include The Albany Pump Station, Black Cat Ale House, B-Rad's Bistro, Brown's Brewing Company, The Illium Café, and the two time champion- The Mallozzi Family.
During Sunday's event about 20,000 chowder samples will be served. For $1 people will receive a 4 oz sample of the chowder.
