TROY N.Y. – Better late than never, the city of Troy has organized a snow emergency plan with just over a week of winter left.
Troy’s snow emergency plan is similar to those of other cities in the Capital District. The plan institutes the odd and even parking system, and residents are to disregard any permanent posted signs in the event that a snow emergency is called.
If a snow emergency is in effect the odd/even parking system will begin at 7 in the morning the day after the snow emergency has been declared. This means all cars must park on the even side the first 24 hours, and on odd side the 24 hours proceeding. Again, this all depends on the severity of the storm.
The city says it will give residents at least an 8 hour notice prior to beginning a snow emergency.
Troy plans on keeping the residents up to date on snow emergencies through its website and social media
