STUYVESANT N.Y.- A barn fire broke out on route 21 in Stuyvesant Tuesday morning, 12 fire companies were called to battle the blaze.

A passerby saw the barn engulfed in flames and knocked on the owner's door to let them know.

By the time firefighters arrived on scene the barn was completely ablaze.

Assistant Fire Chief Ryan Hogencamp  said safety was their number one concern. The barn was full of cars and machines which lead to a number of explosions.

Hogencamp also says he believes the owner did side work on cars in the barn, and the owner was involved with a racing team at the Lebanon Valley Speedway.

Firefighters believe it was either magnesium or acetylene that caused the explosions. However, the cause of the fire is unknown at this time.

No one was injured, though the barn has been completely destroyed.
