DOT: 13 oil cars derail in Selkirk

SELKIRK, N.Y. – The New York State Department of Transportation has announced that they are investigating an oil car derailment.

According to the DOT, the derailment of 13 tank cars carrying crude oil happened on Friday night at the Selkirk Rail Yard.

The 13 tank cars remain upright and no oil has spilled, said DOT. There were no injuries.

The Department of Environmental Conservation is on the scene.

CSX is working to re-rail the derailed cars.​

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
