ALBANY N.Y. – High School football kicks off Friday night with a matchup between North Colonie and Christian Brother Academy.
Friday night’s game is a big deal for both schools, last year the two teams went head to head in the Section II Super Bowl.

Last year’s Section II super bowl game was very exciting, the game came down to the last play where CBA came out on top.

The CBA football players have been practicing for the past three weeks. According to the Christian Brothers Academy Athletic Director Blaine Drescher the team has a strong foundation. Drescher hopes this year’s season will be as successful as the last.

"It's different players now but at the same time both fan bases and both groups of players remember that game and we are trying to keep working hard as a school and hopefully we can carry some of that success for the upcoming season," said Drescher.

Academy of Holy Names cheerleaders and CBA’s pep band will also be preforming at tonight’s big game.

The game will kick off at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Christian Brother Academy.
