GLOVERSVILLE, N.Y. – Police say they have arrested and charged two people for burglary in the 2nd degree, a felony.
According to Gloversville Police, they received a complaint from a neighbor that a burglary had occurred at a home. The neighbor told police that 11 long gums and one pistol, along with other items, were stolen.
Police say the long guns consisted of rifles, shotguns, and one Civil War Musket.
Detectives obtained a search warrant for Spring Avenue residence in late January. As a result, Brandon Coopey, 32, and Amy Simonds, 34, were arrested. However, police were unable to locate the guns in the home.
Authorities say the investigation in ongoing and detectives believe the long guns may have been sold or traded in the Porters Corners area of Saratoga County.
Gloversville Police is asking anyone who may have seen the guns from January 20, 2014 to the present to contact Detective Michael Calbet at 773-4503.
Coopey was arraigned and remanded on $50,000 cash bail. Simonds was arraigned and remanded on $75,000 cash bail.
