EPHRATAH, N.Y. - A Fulton County man has pleaded not guilty to murder connection to the death of his mother.
James Dibble, 29, of Ephratah, was charged with second-degree murder in early July in connection to death of his mother, 58-year-old Gwenda Lisman. He was arraigned on Thursday afternoon in Fulton County which is when he pleaded not guilty to all charges.
Lisman was found dead from a single gunshot wound to the head in her home at 227 Mud Road in Ephratah on July 1, 2013. Police say Lisman borrowed the rifle used to kill her from a neighbor to keep animals away from her garden.
Investigators believe Dibble and his mother had been arguing over money in days leading to her death. Lisman's house was in disarray when police arrived after neighbors say they had heard the two fighting.
