ALBANY, N.Y. - The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has issued a recall on pet food. The company says a small amount of specific dry pet food may have been contaminated with Salmonella.
These products include Iams dry dog and cat food and Eukanuba dry dog food. The food was distributed trough the United States but no Salmonella related illnesses have been reported.
Animals that eat Salmonella contaminated food aren’t the only ones at risk, their human companions are as well. Pet owners are reminded to wash their hands if they believe they have come in contact with the contaminated products.
A pet may have been infected if they are lethargic, have diarrhea, a fever, and vomiting.
