NORTH GREENBUSH, N.Y. – Following an arrest in connection to a forcible touching incident which took place near a car wash in North Greenbush on Tuesday, the FBI was notified.

Officials say it was 36-year-old Bruce Bargy of West Sand Lake who was arrested and charged with Forcible Touching, a class A misdemeanor.

Police say it all happened on Tuesday in broad daylight, on the busy road of State Route 150 in North Greenbush. A female jogger told police that a man came up from behind and attacked her.

According to authorities Bargy posted bail of $2,000 and is set to appear before a judge next Tuesday in Town Court. Police say he confessed to the crime when he was brought into the police station for questioning on Wednesday and because what he said during that interview, a task force of the FBI is now getting involved.

North Greenbush police chief tells NEWS10 ABC that a truck driver spotted Bargy, who fit the description, on the same road the female jogger was attacked.

Police brought Bargy in for questioning Wednesday and that's when officials say the suspect confessed to the crime. However, investigators gathered more information from Bargy that led the North Greenbush Police to call the FBI's Violent Crime Against Children or VCAC task force.

"He told our investigators that he had urges that he wanted to do this previous to this incident," explained North Greenbush Police Chief Robert Durivage, "So, I think it's good that we encountered him when we did.

Officials did get a search warrant and property was seized at the suspect's home.

The chief was not able to comment on exactly what was taken out of Bargy's house and tells NEWS10 ABC that the FBI VCAC task force is working on a separate investigation into Bargy.
