Millions lined Broadway in New York City Friday, hoping to catch a glimpse of the 2009 World Champion New York Yankees.
Among the crowd, 2 bus loads of Capital Region Fans.
Its been nearly a decade since Yankee fans have been able to board a bus and head to a championship parade.
Madison Rifenverick of Wynantskill says, "I want to see the players...A-Rod."
Nick Diehl of North Greenbush says, "I've been waiting 9 years for this, I'm ready."
Nick Diehl and his daughter just 2 of the people aboard the Yankee Travels buses making the trek to the city to celebrate. Nicole Diehl says, "he promised me when they won that we'd do this, so he is living up to it."
Both looking forward to the experience with each other and with fans. Nick Diehl says, "just the people, just being with the other fans, look at this bus its already a good crowd.
And once the buses arrive in the city, they join the millions lining Broadway, all along the parade route. Derek Giuliano of East Greenbush says, "this is awesome, I'm just so happy to be here right now." Josiah Deeb of Wynantskill says, "this is unbelieveable the crowd, I just can't believe I'm here."
Excited to be a part of history, to be a part of the crowd and watch the ticker tape fall. Some fans say they didn't even get close, but it was being at the parade,making the trip, and making memories that was important. Nick Diehl says, "my favorite part was being with my daughter and being with other Yankee fans, its fantastic. I never expected a crowd this big."
