MONTGOMERY COUNTY, N.Y. – Officials in Montgomery County declared a State of Emergency on Friday due to heavy rain and flash flooding.

On Saturday, firefighters spent the day helping homeowners pump water out of their homes.

Fire officials say some areas were covered with three to four feet of water, leaving them a long day of clean up.

"I thought, ‘here we go again’, I thought, ‘I hope we don't' lose the house this time’," said Kyle Borst.

Borst described feelings of Déjà vu after Friday’s storm. She says her home was flooded in 2006, 2011, and now again in 2014.

Fire crews said the floods displaced 10 people and crews had trouble getting through to some homes due to rushing water. They spent most of Saturday pumping water out of basements and setting up generators.

Don Borst said a muddy mess flooded most of his property.

"This was all covered with water; it was running all over,” said Borst.

The Fire Chief says he hopes everything will be back up and running by either Monday or Tuesday.
