ROTTERDAM, N.Y. – Those who traveled on the roads Wednesday may have described their experience as annoying, but those on the slopes only had fun.
Closed schools and energetic kids made it a great day on the slopes at Maple Ridge.
"It's great it's better than sitting home playing video games,” said one lucky kid who had a snow day.
Her brother is a snowboarder and loves to be in the snow after a winter storm hits. The constant snowfall made conditions ideal on the slopes.
"Fresh powder on top if the packed powder on top of a really think man made base that we have here,” said one kid on the slopes.
Maple Ridge Ski Tech Ton Payne said this year has been a little inconsistent.
"It's been a really wired year because we've had like 10 below one weekend; next weekend is pushing 60 degrees,” said Payne.
However, the skiers and snowboarders just keep coming to the slopes.
Maple Ridge is open Thursday from 3 p.m. – 9 p.m. For those looking for something to do, and turn this snow from annoying to fun, this is the place.
