TROY, N.Y. – A 2009 attempted murder case has ended in a guilty verdict for a Troy man.
Ariel Myers was found guilty of one count of Assault in the First Degree and one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the second degree.
Myers was on trial for shooting Robert Guynup in the head in September 2009.
Prosecutors said Myers was in a mob of more than 50 kids at Griswold Heights with a loaded .25 caliber handgun. A single shot rang out when Guynup came outside his home from across the street to take a picture of the crowd for police.
The gun was never recovered. Guynup was left in a coma.
Two previous mistrials were called in the case. Myers is scheduled to be sentenced April 10.
