TROY, N.Y. – Local hockey players will be vying for the Capital Cup Championship in hopes of finding a bone marrow donor for a toddler in need.

On Saturday, starting at 9:30 a.m at the Knickerbacker Ice Arena in Troy, 12 teams will take part in the event. Each team has an honorary captain, who is currently staying, or has previously stayed, at the Ronald McDonald House in Albany.

Participants hope the event will raise awareness for a 3-year-old boy who is in need of a bone marrow donor. Chase Foley is battling leukemia for the second time and is in need of a bone marrow transplant.

The Capital Cup, along with the National Bone Marrow Donor Program will hold a donor sign up to help fine Chase a match.
