Hudson River fuel spill

GERMANTOWN, N.Y. - Several departments’ fire and HAZMAT crews responded to a fuel spill on the Hudson River in Germantown, Columbia County Sunday.

Authorities tell NEWS 10 that what appears to be a transfer line was discovered in the river around 5p.m. Sunday evening, with an unknown type of fuel oil in the water.

Several local fire departments, the Coast Guard and spill response specialists were called to the scene.

The spill is isolated near the dock, crews at the scene have the situation under control.

The DEC will be conducting a test to confirm what type of oil was spilled.
