SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. –  A local woman, who is the co-owner of a business in Saratoga Springs attended Tuesday night's State of the Union in Washington D.C.

Marianne Barker and her husband opened the shop, "Impressions" about 36 years ago. They sell everything from artwork to clothing, most of it with a Saratoga flare.

Over the years, Barker said she's been an active member of the business community and worked with Congressman Paul Tonko.

Barker told NEWS10 ABC that last week, she received a phone call from Tonko inviting her to attend the State of the Union. She said Tonko told her he had selected her to be his guest because of her dedication to Saratoga Springs. The longtime Spa City resident said she's hoping the President mentions small businesses.

At "Impressions" on Tuesday night, Maddy Zanetti, a managing partner of the store was just as excited.

Barker says whether you agree with the President's policies or not, just the chance to see the State of the Union in person is a really cool experience.
