LEICESTER, Vt., - A Vermont man is being arraigned in court Monday on attempted murder charges, after shooting his neighbor and two Vermont State Troopers over the weekend.
The incident started around 3 a.m. Sunday in Leicester, when authorities say Timothy Foley, 47, walked into his neighbor's home and shot him in the head. The victim was taken to the hospital and is in stable condition.
State Police responded to the scene and were able to speak to Foley by phone. That is when police say Foley fired on the troopers from his home, hitting two of them in the head with shotgun pellets.
Both troopers were taken to the hospital. One was treated and released, the other is still receiving medical treatment and is in good condition.
Police eventually talked Foley into surrendering peacefully around 6 a.m.
