WARRENSBURG, N.Y. – The Warren County Sheriff's Office's arrested Jonathan Q. Gallagher Monday for allegedly attempting to steal a cell phone from a 22-year-old victim while at the home of a mutual acquaintance.
Gallagher, 28, of 232 Warrensburg Road in Stony Creek, was at a residence on Hudson Street in the Town of Warrensburg when he obtained a rifle from the residence and displayed it to the male victim, who fled the scene before police arrived.
When police did arrive on the scene, Gallagher refused to be handcuffed and struggled with officers as they were placing him under arrest. They recovered a High-Point 9mm rifle following the incident.
Gallagher was charged with a felony count of Robbery in the 3rd Degree and the misdemeanor charges of Resisting Arrest and Menacing in the 2nd degree.
He was arraigned in Warrensburg Court Tuesday and remanded to the Warren County Correctional Facility in lieu of a $50,000 cash bail.
Police say a second individual, Francisco L. Ordonez, 25, of Main Street in Warrensburg, was also arrested at the scene and charged with Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the 5th Degree, a misdemeanor. He was processed and released to appear at a later date.
