BRUNSWICK, N. Y. – A 28-year-old was arrested after police say he choked his girlfriend and broke her cell phone.

State police in Brunswick say they arrested Sean Sullivan after an alleged domestic incident with his girlfriend. According to troopers, the two had a verbal argument that led to Sullivan breaking his girlfriend’s cellphone, choking her, and then pushing her.

Sullivan was charged with Criminal Obstruction of Breathing or Blood Circulation, Criminal Mischief, and Harassment.

He was processed and released from Brunswick Court and is scheduled to return on a later date.

A restraining order has been issued for Sullivan’s girlfriend against him.
