ROTTERDAM, N.Y. - The Schenectady County Sheriff's Office has arrested a man in connection to the double homicide of two women at a home on Inner Drive in Rotterdam on Wednesday.
Officials say 28-year-old Brice Rivenburgh was arraigned at 6 a.m. Thursday after two women were found dead inside the home at 1142 Inner Drive Thursday morning.
The Rotterdam Police Department released a statement just after 3 p.m. Wednesday saying they were called to the address of 1142 Inner Drive at approximately 10:15 a.m. Wednesday morning and "are currently investigating the suspicious deaths of two individuals."
The victims' names found in the home have not been released, however neighbors tell the NEWS CENTER the home belonged Tammy McCormack, where she lived with her daughter.
McCormack was reportedly employed as an assistant in the human resources department with the Schenectady School District; a moment of silence was held in her memory at Wednesday night's school board meeting.
Police were first called to the home for the report of a small fire. Upon arrival, officials discovered the two bodies inside the home.
Police have not said how the women have died, but say this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to society.
