Man from Hillsdale tells police he robbed bank for drug money

STOCKBRIDGE M.A. – 35-year old Christopher Blair of Hillsdale, NY has been arrested by police who say Blair robbed the Lee Bank in Stockbridge so he could fuel his drug habit.

They tell News10 ABC Blair entered the bank just before closing time advising the tellers to give him money and no one would get hurt.

At one point he jumped behind the counter grabbing an unknown amount of money from the registers before leaving of the bank.

Base on witness accounts police began searching for his Chevrolet pickup truck.

After a short time New York State Police spotted the truck and arrested Blair.

According to police once taken into custody and being read his rights, Blair confessed that he robbed the bank for money to buy drugs.

He then told police that after robbing the bank he purchased and used heroin before he was stopped by New York State Police.

The Hillsdale even added that he was high during the robbery, and that it was his intent to rob the bank, but to purchase drugs.

Blair appeared in Livingston Town court and is being held without bail.
