SCHENECTADY, N.Y. (AP) - A 29-year-old man has been sentenced to 45 years to life in prison for killing his girlfriend and her mother inside their Rotterdam last spring.
Brice Rivenburgh was sentenced Tuesday in a Schenectady County courtroom filled with the relatives of the victims.
Rivenburgh pleaded guilty last month to two counts of second-degree murder in the killings of 22-year-old Jessica McCormack and 52-year-old Tammy McCormack, who were found in separate bedrooms at their house in Rotterdam on April 10.
Their bodies were found when Tammy McCormack's son went to the home because she didn't show for work that day.
Prosecutors said Rivenburgh and Jessica McCormack had an "on again, off again" relationship for a couple of years, but had a falling out just before the slayings.
