Many displaced after Troy fire

TROY, N.Y. – A major structure fire broke out in the area of Fourth Street and Lincoln and Mann Avenues Thursday.

The fire chief said one woman was rescued from the second floor. She is wheelchair-bound, was in her bed and unable to get herself out of the building. The woman suffered First Degree and possibly Second Degree burns.

The building contains six units. All other occupants escaped safely, and the fire department rescued several pets.

The fire chief said the fire started in the rear of the building, and it is not believed to be suspicious.
