EAST GREENBUSH, N.Y. – The victims of a murder-suicide in East Greenbush were remembered by their family members Tuesday.
Early July 1, police found the bodies of 11-year-old Cara and six-year-old Eudora Thurston along with their mother inside a bedroom of a Rockrose Drive home.
Investigators said they had been following the case of 47-year-old Angela Mtambu since early June when family members reported she was driving from Texas to the Capital Region to kill her children and herself. Family members said Mtambu was going through a tough time as her 23-year-old son committed suicide in April 2014.
Relatives said they are still working to come to terms with the recent tragedies.
“I have no doubt they are in peace,” the girls’ uncle Bernard Pamberi said. “I have no doubt that, you know, there is another world up there. They’re up there somewhere.”
Services for Mtambu are being held Tuesday night.
