READSBORO, Vt. – A 76-year-old man has been reported missing after his family hasn't heard from him since the beginning of October.

Vermont State Police received a report of an overdue motorist on Friday from a concerned family member of the missing man.

They told police that Merton Powers left to see family in the State of Texas around October 3rd.

The family member said Powers has medical problems which may cause him to become confused and disoriented.

He was last seen near McKay's Auto in Brattleboro, Vermont.

He was last seen operating a Silver, 2006 Suzuki Forenza which had Texas registration, JNL863.

Anyone who knows of Powers whereabouts are asked to contact the Vermont State Police Barracks-Shaftsbury at 802.442.5421.
